The European Parliament will host a gathering of policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, alongside live demonstrations of cutting-edge robots, to set the course for the EU’s future in robotics.

AI-powered robotics in Europe: Live demonstrations and strategic debate

Europe is already a global leader in robotics research, development and innovation. As advances in artificial intelligence (AI) are accelerating the emergence of physical AI—robots capable of perceiving, reasoning and acting in the physical world—there is a growing opportunity for Europe to translate its scientific excellence into industrial leadership. Strengthening Europe’s position in AI powered robotics is essential to enhance its competitiveness, reinforce its technological sovereignty, and ensure that the next generation of AI powered robotics is developed and deployed in line with European values and strategic interests.

This event will convene policymakers, industry representatives and academics to discuss how Europe can strengthen its leadership in AI-powered robotics and physical AI, including through a coordinated European initiative for AI-powered robotics that accelerates innovation, industrial deployment and investment. The discussion will build on existing European initiatives, including the AI Continent Action Plan and the Apply AI Strategy, and explore how these can help position Europe at the forefront of the next generation of AI-powered robotics. It will also feature live demonstrations by 20 to 30 of Europe’s most advanced AI-powered robots, showcasing how robotics can contribute to addressing key societal and economic needs.

Agenda

  • Robotics demo opening - including speeches by senior representatives of the European institutions, MEP Axel Voss and Prof. Alin Albu-Schäffer (euROBIN) (30 min)
  • Live demonstration with 20-30 of Europe’s most advanced AI-powered robots (30 min)
  • Round table discussion (1 hour and 30 min)
  • Open demos, networking session (1 hour)

This invitation-only event is organised by euROBIN, the European Network of Excellence in Robotics, funded by Horizon Europe. euROBIN is building a shared European ecosystem for intelligent robotics, with a scientific focus on enabling AI-powered robots to transfer knowledge and skills across different robots, tasks and environments. Its core consortium brings together 31 partners from 14 countries and 26 European cities, with a further 39 partners supported through cascade funding.
